Something not working, or a question about your starter? Write to yaveez.dev@gmail.com. In the app, Home › Settings › Write to us adds your app and iOS version for you.

Getting started

  1. Give your starter a name and tell Sourpeak where it lives and which flour you feed it.
  2. Each time you feed it, tap Feed, choose the ratio and the amounts, and tap Mark as fed. Every ratio shows its own peak time before you choose.
  3. Put a rubber band around the jar at the starter’s level. It makes the rise easy to see.
  4. Near the peak, Sourpeak asks whether your starter is at its peak. Your answer teaches it.

How the estimate works

Sourpeak starts from how a typical starter behaves and adjusts for the ratio, your kitchen temperature, the flour and how stiff or liquid the starter is. Then it learns your starter’s own pace from your answers. “Not yet” and “Already falling” teach it too, because they show whether the peak came later or earlier. After a few answers the estimate settles and the question stops.

It is an estimate, not a promise. A warmer or colder kitchen than usual moves the peak, so update the kitchen temperature when you feed.

Notifications

I don’t get alerts

  1. In Sourpeak, open Home › Settings and check that Notifications are on. If they are off, tap Open Settings and allow them.
  2. Peak alerts and bake day steps are Time Sensitive. To let them through a Focus, allow Time Sensitive notifications for Sourpeak in the iPhone Settings app, under Notifications.
  3. Alerts need a feeding to start from. If you fed your starter but did not log it, Sourpeak cannot know when it will peak.

An alert came late in the morning

With Quiet while I sleep on, an alert that would fall during your sleep hours waits until you wake up. Set your bedtime and wake-up time under Settings › Your day.

Sourpeak Pro

Sourpeak Pro is a one‑time purchase, not a subscription. It adds backward planning, bake day plans, unlimited starters, a dough calculator and widgets. Peak estimates, feeding reminders and the Lock Screen countdown are free.

Restore your purchase

On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, open Home › Settings › Sourpeak Pro and tap Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with.

Questions

Where is my data?
Only on your iPhone. There is no account and no server. Deleting the app deletes your starters and feedings. See the privacy policy.
Can I use Sourpeak with a starter kept in the fridge?
Yes. Tell Sourpeak it lives in the fridge and it reminds you once a week. When you take it out to feed, turn on Straight from the fridge so the estimate allows for the cold start.
Can I fix a feeding I logged wrong?
Yes. Tap your starter’s name to open its page, then tap the feeding to edit or delete it.
Which languages does it speak?
English, German and Turkish. Sourpeak follows your iPhone’s language.
What do I need?
An iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
